Kelowna United F.C. continues their winning steak as the lone team atop the table in the Premiership after a narrow victory against Kirby Carter’s - Glory Days Athletics. HDC Peachland got their first win and appeared to find some groove for the first time this season. We’ll see if the Premiership will have some separation after this week as KUFC plays a struggling Okanagan F.C. side, Midtown hosts HDC & Glory Days takes on a surprising OFC u21 side.
Acera F.C. continues their undefeated run to start the season with a big win against Misfits, who have appeared to cool off after clean sheets in their first 2 matches. Kelowna City F.C. have found themselves with 2 consecutive wins after opening losses to start the season. There’s plenty of turnover within the squad, which has contributed to a lack of chemistry to start the season for KCFC. Next Sunday, we will see if Kelowna City can continue their run of form against a recently underperforming Misfits side at 5:30 pm in the Master’s Match of the Week.
Our thrilling Championship Division still has three undefeated teams, with DMA and Sterling taking control. DMA took a route to Grenfell 8-1 and Sterling had a strong match, beating previously undefeated Rutland Young Boys. FC Play-it-Again has taken the league by surprise with two straight wins after an opening bye week and aims to continue against a strong Carlton Athletic side.
The Match of the Week is DMA hosting Sterling on Tuesday night, one of these teams will concede their first points of the season. Expect both teams to get up for this highly contested affair.
DMA Manager - “Sterling is a team with firepower and proven pedigree coming off their title-winning season. Our team circled this match on the calendar as soon as it came out. We know how much this means. We have had a great week in training and are ready to face the music. This will be one for the ages. Two teams 3-0, only one can continue their undefeated run. We are ready.”
We’re also here to remind teams to clean up garbage after yourselves (tape, bottles, gear) in order to keep our facility clean, fines will be provided to teams that fail to keep the standard high. In the final fixture of the night, teams can please put their benches away to help the referee clean the pitch. Good luck this week!
